AiV Presents Two Research Papers at ICCV 2023, the World's Leading Computer Vision Conference

AiV, a leading provider of industrial deep learning computer vision solutions, announced that it presented two research papers on Out-of-Distribution (OOD) Detection at the International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV) 2023, one of the world's most prestigious conferences in computer vision.

At the conference, Jaewoo Park, Principal Research Engineer at AiV, presented two notable research papers.

The first paper, "Nearest Neighbor Guidance for Out-of-Distribution Detection," addresses two major limitations of existing OOD detection approaches: the overconfidence problem in classifier-based methods and the limited fine-grained detection capability of K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN). The proposed method achieved state-of-the-art performance on both the Papers with Code and OpenOOD benchmarks.

The second paper, "Understanding the Feature Norm for Out-of-Distribution Detection," investigates the theoretical role of feature vector norms in OOD detection and introduces a methodology that enables efficient unsupervised anomaly detection. This approach is particularly valuable for domains where data labeling is difficult and expensive, such as medical image analysis and autonomous driving systems.

Jaewoo Park commented:
