AiV, a Deep Learning Machine Vision Solution Startup, Secures KRW 5 Billion in Series A Funding

AiV, a startup specializing in deep learning-based machine vision solutions, has successfully raised KRW 5 billion (approximately USD 3.7 million) in Series A funding.

The investment round was led by a group of financial investors (FIs), including KDB Capital, L&S Venture Capital, Quantum Ventures Korea, K2 Investment Partners, and WE Ventures.

Previously, AiV secured seed funding in May 2020 from strategic investors, including leading component manufacturers such as Central Corporation, Samkee, Taeyang Metal, and Autonics.

AiV provides AI-powered manufacturing solutions that automate defect inspection processes through its proprietary deep learning-based machine vision technology, enabling manufacturers to replace manual visual inspection with highly accurate automated quality control.

The company's founding team consists of experienced engineers with extensive expertise in artificial intelligence, machine vision, and optical engineering—the core technologies behind deep learning-based machine vision systems. Within just one year of its establishment, AiV successfully internalized and advanced its core technologies while completing numerous Proof of Concept (PoC) projects and commercial production deployments. These achievements were recognized by investors as strong evidence of the company's technological competitiveness and execution capabilities.

As Digital Transformation (DT) becomes increasingly essential to enhancing manufacturing competitiveness, demand continues to grow for automated inspection systems capable of replacing conventional manual visual inspections. However, many large enterprises, mid-sized companies, and SMEs lack the integrated expertise required to develop both the hardware and software necessary for AI-based inspection systems. AiV addresses this market gap by providing an integrated deep learning machine vision solution that delivers measurable improvements in manufacturing quality and cost competitiveness, making the company an attractive investment opportunity.

Leveraging Korea's position as a global hub for component manufacturing, AiV has developed strong expertise in deep learning-based machine vision solutions across a wide range of manufacturing applications. Building upon its successful commercial deployments in Korea, the company plans to expand into global markets.

In addition, AiV will continue advancing its deep learning technologies, including Few-Shot Learning and Unsupervised Anomaly Detection, to maximize inspection performance even with limited training data. The company is also accelerating the development of next-generation 2.5D optical systems capable of delivering faster and more accurate inspections.

To support its continued growth, AiV plans to actively recruit top talent across AI algorithm development, software engineering, optical engineering, and hardware design.
